The rebound followed a nearly 3% recovery from an intraday low below $58,000, showing renewed buying interest despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding U.S. monetary policy.

Fed Sticks to Data-Driven Approach

During the ECB panel, Warsh was asked whether the Federal Reserve might adjust interest rates at the upcoming July Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. However, he declined to offer any forward guidance.

Instead, Warsh repeated the stance he has maintained since becoming Fed chair, emphasizing that future policy decisions will be based entirely on incoming economic data rather than predetermined plans. His comments reinforced the Fed’s commitment to a flexible, data-dependent approach as inflation and broader economic conditions continue to evolve.

Markets Still Expect No July Rate Change

Despite uncertainty over future policy, financial markets continue to believe the Federal Reserve will leave interest rates unchanged this month.

According to the CME FedWatch Tool, investors currently see a 70.6% probability that rates will remain on hold at the July FOMC meeting. While inflation remains a concern, traders appear confident that the Fed is unlikely to tighten policy in the near term.

Warsh also discussed inflation during the event, noting that inflation expectations had eased over the previous four weeks even amid concerns related to the recent U.S.-Iran conflict. He added that inflation risks have moderated and reaffirmed the Federal Reserve’s commitment to bringing inflation back to its long-term target of 2%.

Previous Fed Decision Still Influencing Markets

The latest comments come after the Federal Reserve’s June policy meeting, where officials also chose to keep interest rates unchanged.

Following that decision, Bitcoin dropped to around $65,430, while Ethereum traded near $1,770. At the same time, the Fed released updated projections showing that nine policymakers expected at least one interest rate increase before the end of the year.

Those projections continue to influence investor sentiment even as Warsh maintains that future decisions will depend solely on new economic data.

Higher Rate Expectations Remain a Challenge

Although a July rate hike appears unlikely, investors are still watching for the possibility of tighter monetary policy in the future.

Data from Polymarket currently assigns a 54% probability that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates before the end of 2026.

Higher interest rates typically create a more challenging environment for cryptocurrencies because they encourage investors to favor cash and fixed-income assets over riskier investments like Bitcoin.

Adding to the cautious outlook, Morgan Stanley recently said it expects the Federal Reserve to keep rates unchanged for the remainder of the year. However, the bank warned that additional rate hikes could become necessary if inflation stays elevated or unemployment falls further.

Other Factors Continue to Weigh on Bitcoin

Monetary policy is not the only issue affecting Bitcoin’s price.

The market is also monitoring concerns surrounding corporate Bitcoin holdings. Earlier reports from crypto.news suggested that Strategy could potentially sell up to $1.25 billion worth of Bitcoin, creating additional selling pressure if such a move takes place.

Political attention has also remained focused on the Federal Reserve. Before Kevin Warsh became Fed chair, President Donald Trump repeatedly pushed for lower interest rates. Following the Fed’s June decision to leave rates unchanged, Trump avoided strong criticism and continued expressing support for Warsh, even though the Fed chair offered no indication of when rate cuts might begin.

For now, Bitcoin’s recovery above $60,000 highlights the market’s sensitivity to every signal from the Federal Reserve, with investors continuing to closely watch economic data and future policy decisions that could shape the next major move in crypto.

Also read : What Is a Digital Commodity?
