The payouts were calculated using the project&#8217;s Karma score system, which rewards users based on factors such as token staking, NFT staking, and overall community participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said the snapshot used for calculating rewards was taken on June 15, with funds already delivered to eligible community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the reward distribution, Uncharted refunded $7,021 worth of eligible in-game purchases made after the launch of Chapter 3 on May 14. However, purchases related to diving activities were excluded from the refund program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest update follows the studio&#8217;s earlier announcement that both Uncharted and Fishing Frenzy would permanently cease operations after struggling to find a profitable path forward in the crypto gaming sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Liquidity Pool Funds to Be Redistributed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of its shutdown strategy, Uncharted previously revealed plans to redistribute all USDC held within the FISH\/USDC liquidity pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than allocating funds according to token holdings, the studio opted to use Karma scores as the basis for distribution. The company believes this approach better rewards active community members who contributed to the ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team also urged users who provided liquidity to the FISH\/USDC pool to contact support through Discord to receive assistance withdrawing their positions before the platform closes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the FISH token has effectively been frozen. The token can no longer be traded or transferred and remains usable only within the game until servers go offline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Uncharted, this restriction was introduced to prevent a last-minute selloff that could allow a small number of users to capture a disproportionate amount of the remaining liquidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Karma Data Open-Sourced for Future Rewards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an effort to support the community after the shutdown, Uncharted has open-sourced its Karma score dataset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said other blockchain projects can use the data for future community incentive programs, reward campaigns, or token distributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional benefits may still be on the way for players. Uncharted stated that Proof of Distribution rewards will be handled directly by Sky Mavis and allocated using the same Karma-based methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The studio also plans to share user data with partner projects and encourage them to honor previously planned token reward programs for top community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crypto Gaming Vision Fails to Deliver<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explaining the decision, Uncharted said that after spending a year testing different products, audiences, and growth strategies, it failed to find a sustainable product-market-business fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We were ultimately unable to prove our thesis on crypto gaming and could not find product-market-business fit,&#8221; the team stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fishing Frenzy is scheduled to shut down permanently on June 25 at 2:00 a.m. UTC. Until then, players can continue accessing existing game features, although USDC purchase packages have already been removed from the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The closure highlights the ongoing challenges facing blockchain gaming projects, many of which continue to struggle with user growth and long-term sustainability despite active communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uncharted joins a growing list of crypto projects that have shut down in 2026.
