Pi Network Backs CiDi Games to Power a Bigger Crypto Gaming World

Pi Network is taking a big leap into the world of crypto gaming. The project revealed a new strategic partnership — and an investment — in CiDi Games, a studio committed to building games directly integrated with the Pi ecosystem. The goal is simple: turn gaming into one of the strongest drivers of activity, adoption, and real utility for the Pi token.

With tens of millions of users — known as “Pioneers” — already mining Pi worldwide, the Core Team sees games as the perfect way to keep people engaged every day. CiDi Games will now develop a lineup of lightweight, accessible titles that fit Pi’s global audience, making sure players can enjoy on-chain features while having fun.

Bringing More Utility to the Pi Token

Pi has long highlighted that a cryptocurrency must have real-world uses to sustain long-term growth. This partnership is designed to boost that vision by:

  • Expanding Pi’s role in in-game payments
  • Encouraging developers to build more Pi-native applications
  • Strengthening the ecosystem through creator-driven innovation

Gaming, the Core Team noted, naturally fits Pi’s social nature. It connects users, rewards interaction, and creates what they describe as an “engagement loop” — games attract users, users play daily, and transactions support a growing app economy.

Built on an Existing Foundation of Game Development

This isn’t Pi Network’s first step into gaming. The team has supported builders through hackathons, incubation programs, and a range of developer tools. Monetization channels like the Pi Ad Network have already helped creators earn revenue.

One example is FruityPi — one of the most popular games in the ecosystem — which has fully integrated Pi Wallet, Pi payments, and ad rewards.

Backed by a $100M Ecosystem Fund

The investment comes through Pi Network Ventures, the project’s $100 million fund to accelerate development across Pi-native applications. Supporting CiDi Games signals strong confidence in the studio’s roadmap and its ability to scale gaming within the network.

The Core Team added that its long-term strategy focuses on building a tightly connected ecosystem — where tools, incentives, and applications grow together rather than operating as separate pieces. Making gaming a central pillar could be a major step toward unlocking mainstream usage for Pi.

As crypto gaming continues to expand, Pi Network is betting big that fun, simple entertainment could be the key to driving massive on-chain activity — and ultimately, widespread Pi adoption.
